IWSG – May 2023 – Beautiful British Columbia
Ninja Captain Alex J Cavanaugh created IWSG — because Alex understands we need a place to congregate, insecurity is part of our creative nature, and together we’re stronger.
On the first Wednesday of each month, you can write on any subject related to your writing journey or adopt the option of answering the month’s question. Either way, you’re in safe territory.
If this sounds good to you, sign up here.
IWSG’s Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and the hashtag is #IWSG.
Every month, a specific question is offered, which may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or a story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you struggle with something to say.
Remember, the question is optional!
The awesome co-hosts for the May 3 posting of the IWSG are Ronel Janse van Vuuren, Meka James, Victoria Marie Lees, M Louise Barbour, and me.
Happy IWSG Wednesday, fellow IWSGers. Having just arrived back to our home five days ago, I’m helping dear husband fix our busted water lines and replace the hot water unit in our RV. Consequently, I won’t be answering this month’s question; but I will be one of your co-hosts. Please enjoy some photos of our trip from Abbotsford to our home in Cluculz Lake in central British Columbia. I should warn you — there are shots of the white stuff. Sorry.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Gorgeous photos! I’ve traveled a little in BC, including driving from Portland, OR to Kamloops for a concert years ago. Such incredibly beautiful scenery.
Beautiful photos! Enjoy the repair time with your husband. That’s true marital bonding. 🙂
Gorgeous scenery. I loved the deer 😉 Thank you for co-hosting!
The pictures are beautiful! Looks like a great trip!
You and I live in a postcard. Love the pics. It’s like looking out my backyard… and beyond. hehehe
That white stuff just keeps hanging around this spring. Great pictures.
Love the pictures. Someday, I’d love to visit British Columbia again! @samanthabwriter from

Lovely images! I think that’s the most snow I’ve seen all year. Glad to finally get my fix (grew up dealing with the “Lake Effect” in western NYS, so these snowless years feel so very wrong). Thank you for sharing.
I’m so sorry that you had to deal with busted water pipes when you arrived home, Joylene. That’s my biggest worry whenever we’re gone. Terry and I fixing busted pipes and installing a new water heater would be a horror show ~ lol! Thanks for sharing your lovely province with us and that gorgeous deer. I also like to take photos from our car when we’re driving. The world is a fascinating place. I still love the white stuff, but I’m not as excited about the cold anymore. I’ve become a wimp! I hope May is all uphill from here on! Hugs and love to you!
My niece lives in BC and can’t bear to be far from the mountains.
It looks as if you had an enjoyable trip.
Thanks for co-hosting this month. The images of your home are lovely, even with the white stuff.
Wow, the landscape is so scenic and epic where you are, Joylene. Good luck with all the work to be done!
Beautiful photos of a beautiful part of the world.
Thanks for co-hosting, Joylene! I hope the RV repairs go smoothly. I visited Vancouver once for a psychology conference–very pretty!
Broken waters pipes are NO fun all! Love the photos, 🙂 https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2023/05/value-of-dreams-in-nightmare-world.html
It looks like you had a great time. Thanks for co-hosting!
Beautiful photos! Thanks for co-hosting.
What beautiful pictures. Is Kiss of the Assassin new or am I behind?

No. KOTA is over a year old already. Wow, time flies.
Your pictures are stunning. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your water lines. Thank you also for hosting IWSG this month!
Lovely photos–even the ones that have snow in them. 😉
Lovely! I’m envious.
Thanks for co-hosting!
I’m sorry your water lines broke. But your photos are gorgeous.
Thank you so much for these glorious photos.
I do hope that the repairs come together quickly and easily.
Truly inspiring photos, Joylene. Thank you so much for sharing these with your followers. Good luck with the pipes. I so understand needing to help Hubby with big home fixes. All best!
Wow, you live in wonderful area surrounded by natural beauty and four-footed visitors. One of my favorite photos is the deer staring at the camera. I guess he’s wondering about these two-footed visitors.
I’m sorry you were welcomed home with busted water pipes and busted hot water unit. Thank goodness your dear husband can fix it and you are there to help and probably hand him tools. At least that’s the way things were when we lived on the boat. Rick fixed and I fetched.
Thanks for finding the time to co-host during your first week back.

The white stuff is some of my favorite stuff! I’m from Georgia so forgive me when I get a bit overexcited about it 🙂 These photos are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for hosting this month!
Gorgeous photos! Love the wildlife.
Thanks for co-hosting!
Love the pictures. And I hope the RV maintenance goes smoothly.
Those are beautiful, calming pictures, Joylene.
Those are some terrific pictures. Thanks for sharing and thank you for co-hosting.
Nice photos. I love BC. When I was road show touring we used to play a number of towns–Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops, Prince George, and others. It was always one of my favorite parts of the tour. Such a beautiful area. Glad you were able to do those travels.

But the white stuff is just beautiful!
And one brave deer.

What a beautiful part of the world you have to enjoy, Joylene! Thanks for posting these and for co-hostiing the IWSG. Oh and , belated happy birthday.
